Stage 1 - Planning Ahead for Your Up and Coming Baby Shower Party

Plan the Baby Shower Party with a Theme

We’re setting this baby shower party plan into 4 easily manageable parts that will help you go through the logistics of getting all the essential arrangements in place  -  plus any extras and additions that you may particularly want.
Remember that this is a just a guide and you may prefer to change the suggested order of some of the bits.

Most people feel comfortable planning a party over a 3 or 4 week period, so each stage could be one week. It’s worth checking these three points out before we launch in:

# The date of the shower party.
# Your time available.
# Sending invitations out.

The Date of the Shower Party
You may not need to fix the exact date at this time. It is worth deciding whether you want to host the shower party before or after the birth. Baby showers were generally held before the birth but traditions for shower events are very fluid nowadays. It’s almost become a tradition to create new traditions and precedents! The point here is that everyone values innovation – we just love to create something more special and inventive. Throughout all these arrangements though, we must always bear in mind the chief guest – the mother-to-be. She probably isn’t Paris Hilton and most women around the time of the birth of their (first?) baby are happy with a homely quality to the occasion. It’s safest to check with her but see if you can get advice from other moms first.

The amount of time you have available to put into the arranging is limited to the date of the party. If there's not much time and you've also got a busy schedule, now's the time to call in a friend or two. It is going to be a fun event, so have fun making the arrangements; and what better way of doing that and with others supporting and bringing down stress levels. Make sure it's fun for them as well.

Getting the Invitations Out
One of the key points for planning the event is to ensure the baby shower party invitations get out in time for all the guests to diarize. Remember that they've also got to get their RSVP back so you can finalize the food and venue arrangements.

We’re publishing a page per stage to cover these topics:
Introduction
1: The Baby Shower Party Plan  (This page)
2: Invitations and Fun Time
3: Final Fantasy of Fab Food and Fun
4: It's Party Time!

You’ve probably read the introduction page. And now we're already halfway through the Baby Shower Party Plan page. Let’s finish up with summarizing what else needs to be done. That way you’ll get a good feel for the event as well as ideas will start to ruminate and bubble up.

Making the guest list - clearly an important element of the project and one you'll need to discuss with the guest of honour. If you're planning a one making it a surprise party, it’s better to talk to her spouse or closest confidants.

Choosing a location - becomes much clearer when the guest list is finalized.

Sending out the (themed?) baby shower party invitations - a pivotal part is then completed.

Arranging the menu of food, fun and games - like the cake and its icing.

That's it really. It's going to be easy to do and we got several ideas to keep everything to a reasonable budget. We suggest you take a break and let these seeds start to sprout. We will soon have a bouquet of blooming enjoyment to present to the guest of honour - you know it makes scents!

Next part will be published shortly - but do email us if you need it sooner. In the meantime, you might like to check out some of these games:
