Baby Handprint Footprint Poem - Touching the Tender Heart


A Baby Footprint Poem for a Mothers Day or a Keepsake Frame?  -  You know you can write it yourself!

If you are the parent, relative or friend of a newborn, consider writing a baby handprint or footprint poem to include as part of a customized birth announcement or baby function.  It could even be a simple thank you card or gesture from grateful grandparents for their newly arrived grandchild.

       With a spin and a whirl and Cupid’s dart,
       He’s bound to win ev’ry girl’s heart
Or:
       With a wink and a curl - her own Cupid dart,
       She’s gonna win a true boy’s heart.

In the first couplet, you can change "He's bound to" to the boy's name or in the second couplet you can change "She's gonna" to the girl's name. Again you can change "every girl's" to the name of a mother or father; and likewise with true boy's.

If you're a little uncertain on your abilities for writing a poem, play around with it for a while, and soon you'll find it quite easy.  If you get a little stuck, then give it a break, just think that you’ll allow your inner creative to work on it  -  like sleeping on it! You’ll find the rhymes and ideas just pop up:

       Tender moments shared like these
       Bring heartfelt tears of joy.
       Emotions arising with loving ease,
       Life’s friendships do alloy.

Or change it around:

       Tender tears shared like these
       Bring heartfelt moments so fond.
       Emotions arising with loving ease,
       Lifetime friendships do bond.

You'll soon be thrilled at how easy it is to spontaneously compose simple little poems and dittys.  You don't even have to write them down, you can just have fun reciting them at a family gathering. Do also think to combine them creatively with a picture of baby's hand or footprint
