Create a Timeless Keepsake with a
Baby Footprint Frame

Completing The Moment with a Picture Of Baby and Footprint Combined

The Baby Footprint Frame often comes in a kit form and is one of the most popular ways of making a great impression of your baby’s foot or hand print. Though coming in a few different formats, it usually consists of two glass fronted picture frames hinged together.  The two frames can contain a baby poem or a picture of baby in one half, with the footprint or handprint image or impression next to it  -  you could even create and put a crafted collage in one of the halves. The frame can stand independently on your table, desktop, shelf or hang on a wall.  You can also get a larger single frame, which is more suitable for wall hanging.

The backing or mounting card of the frame containing the impression and the photograph or poem normally has dual coloring - blue on one side and pink on the other.  The cheaper kit frames are normally made of iron whereas the more expensive models have wooden frames that come in different painted colours, or natural mahogany.

Kits will include a wood roller or plastic tube, to roll the molding clay flat, and a plastic trimming knife as well as the instructions.  The whole process is quite simple and can be completed in 15 to 20 minutes.  You should be prepared with some baby wipes or damp cloths.

This product is available at several stores; I suggest you check out the

Wherever you choose, you'll soon have a great kit that will enable you to have fun and enjoy real quality time.  You will be producing a real quality baby keepsake imprint that you'll be proud of, and proud to show family, friends and visitors.

One point worth checking on is the molding clay: this is mostly white-colored and of a firm consistency.  You will need to work the clay in your hands for a few minutes to soften it  -  like kneading dough.  Because of its consistency and the need to apply a firm pressure to create an impression, it may not be suitable to use for children under three months old.  For these very young babies you may find the ink imprint kit more suitable or check if the modelling material will be soft enough. For instance, for a plaster of paris type product, you can add more water to make the medium softer.
In some kits, the clay provided will need to the baked in the oven for a short time at a medium to low temperature.  The clay does not harden immediately, so if the image doesn't come out well the first time, you can roll it flat and make the imprint again.
